Hard to believe we opened the doors to the studio on January 1, 1982. It wasn't called OTR Studios or Blue Coast .. it was Out There Recording.. named in honor of our band, Out There Orchestra.
I'll be spending 2022 telling stories of the last 40 years and the artists we've had the great opportunity to work with. We'll be presenting new services for the Reopening Celebration that include podcasting, audiobooks, livestreaming and Atmos - along with nostalgic features on recording to tape, digitizing old reels and (of course) our commitment to recording, mixing and mastering to DSD and HD.
We've even been approached by a sponsor to recreate the "Ever Feel A Million Miles From Nowhere" t-shirt that has (apparently) become a collector's item. Any of you "Out There" with an old t-shirt, get in touch with me! And don't sell it... could be an NFT one day. :)
We also plan to open up the room for producers and engineers who would like to make use of our gear, vintage mics and preamps, 48 input console and the 7' Steinway piano. I'm looking forward to NOT engineering every session that comes through. :)
If you're interested in sponsoring an artist recording or have an artist you'd like recorded, send me an email. We've got some special 1982 studio services packages in the works. Special rates for special people. If you're a jerk... don't contact us. :)
Who knows... we might even rebuild the 20 year old website! (uh...don't count on it). Reach me at support@bluecoastmusic.com
