03 30 2020 Today was announced another 30 days of Shelter in Place. Do you use Facebook? I know... it's a pain. But in these days of shelter, I'm trying to be supportive of the musicians doing livestreams to keep in touch with their audiences. Most fun are when the musicians AREN'T giving a performance... like Jenna Mammina.
Jenna's been going live at 11;11am and pm EDT. It's more like a talk show. Jenna plays an album off her iPhone, sings along, comments, calls friends, interviews artists and acknowledges those who come to her Facebook live stream. Last night, Patti (of Tuck and Patti) was on, Mike Clark (fantastic drummer) and a host of music buddies landed on her page. I think she's going to interview Patti on Wednesday. It's not for everyone, but Jenna is a natural performer, if you've ever seen her on stage. She's one of the best jazz improvisers you'll ever hear. Tonight, she sang along with Joni Mitchell, talked to her mom, an ex-boyfriend, and one of the top public radio djs came to listen. :) If you want something different, a peek into Shelter in Place for an artist and a view into how someone else lives... this is it.

Now, while I was on FB, some of the audiophile groups were discussing... 'can you hear the difference' between this format or that. I thought this ended long ago. So I chime in... "did you do a comparison test?" The answer is always "no". I send them to the 9 free downloads at Blue Coast Music and the Comparison Test how to. Then I say, "buy whatever makes you happy, but don't tell someone else their choice is wrong." Game over.
I'll be back soon. Feel free to leave a comment or send a note.
Stay safe!
