Well, after all the trials and tribulations I've had with the Zoom Room set up at the studio, it all seems to be working.. at least good enough. The Beecaster mic is wonderful and sits on the desk, always on, I don't have to think about it. The camera is a pain, but workable. Yesterday, we had a nearly full crew meeting with all in our first Zoom meeting.
Most of the crew is working remotely, which is a challenge and also wonderful. We went over the game plan for the studio and upcoming direction for Blue Coast Records. Every one of the new interns is a songwriter and proficient on some kind of digital audio workstation... mostly Logic because most people seem to have a Macintosh computer in this country. At least with Logic, when Apple does an upgrade to their operating system Logic is upgraded at the same time, unlike with ProTools.
A few of the interns will learn how to operate the Pyramix system and DSD, although, Patrick and I continue to be the main users. Instead, we're training the new interns on podcast software with a focus on storytelling, interviews and adding background music to narratives.
It's a new world We're planning to be part of it. The meeting went well.
