The holidays seem to bring on the desire to catch up with old friends. This year, more than most. Maybe because we've all been asked to stay home with COVID on our heels. So, this weekend I decided to call my oldest friends in the world, those that knew me before I was a music producer or recording engineer. Those friends who knew me as a musician.
These are friends who we can go for years without talking and still consider them my best friends. Friends who know you to the core of your existence. They know why you do what you do. They know what you're not doing that really inspires you. They know more about you than your own family. Friends that have held your hands in the bad times and fallen on the floor with laughter at other times. Friends that are friends not because of what you do but who you are. You don't expect them to be reading the newsletter 5 times a week and probably aren't even on your mailing list. They don't need those things to be a friend.
So, to my surprise, to hear that they are reading this, came as a bit of a shock.
Here's to you, my dearest friends in the world. You know who you are. You've got my phone number. :)
Sending holiday love and call me soon!
